SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER OR CLASSROOM AIDE

Certified special education teacher or recent graduate with a BA in a special education needed in treatment program for children and youth with autism. This appointment will begin immediately with annual reappointment each September dependent upon performance.

Job responsibilities include developing individualized instructional programs for youngsters with autism; providing direct instruction and treatment; collecting observational data on children's performance; and providing home programming services. Intensive training and strong administrative support are available. The position also offers research opportunities.

Starting salary is $46,692 per year. Fringe benefits include health, life, and disability insurance, as well as professional liability insurance. The Academy serves children and youth ages 3 to 21. There is an excellent child-staff ratio and close interaction with colleages.
