Garden Academy a small non-profit private school located in West Orange, New Jersey specializing in the education and treatment of students with autism.  Using the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and operating with a one-to-one staff and student ratio, we are able to provide highly individualized instruction to each student. We are looking for energetic and motivated individuals to join our highly supportive program comprised of small class sizes with BCBA and BCBA- D oversight in each class.  Benefits include: a competitive salary, medical, dental and life insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, and paid time off.

We are seeking dedicated professionals with appropriate experience to fulfill three open positions in our school.  The positions are listed below:

Job Title: Certified Teacher of Students with Disabilities

Responsibilities:

  • Implement student’s IEP objectives
  • Implement behavior plans
  • Collect and analyze data
  • Assist with functional behavior assessments
  • Assist with skill assessments
  • Prepare IEP documents for assigned students
  • Administer APA and DLM for assigned students
  • Conduct parent training

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or a related field
  • New Jersey Standard Teaching Certificate for students with disabilities OR Certificate of Eligibility Advanced Standing (CEAS)
  • 2 years experience working with children with autism or related disorders using the principles of ABA

 

Job Title: One-to-one ABA Instructor

Responsibilities:

  • Implement student’s IEP objectives
  • Implement behavior plans
  • Collect and analyzing data
  • Assist with functional behavior assessments
  • Assist with skill assessments
  • Assist with IEP development
  • Conduct parent training

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education or a related field
  • 2 years experience working with children with autism or related disorders using the principles of ABA.

 

Job Title: BCBA Supervisor

Job Description: The BCBA is responsible for providing over sight and training to classroom instructors on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). The Classroom Trainer works collaboratively with the clinical administration on the development of each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The Classroom Trainer is responsible for monitoring student progress, analyzing barriers to learning and developing solutions to overcome those barriers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BCBA certification required
  • Minimum of Master’s degree in applied behavior analysis or related field
  • Minimum of two years experience designing, writing, and implementing functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and behavior-intervention plans
  • Minimum of two years implementing behaviorally based skills assessments and designing educational curriculum
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills

Job duties: 

  • Provide hands-on training on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to classroom instructors
  • Conduct VB-MAPP assessments and other related skills assessments
  • Develop skill acquisition programs based on skills assessments
  • Develop IEP goals and objectives
  • Monitor student progress and problem solve skill acquisition programs
  • Conduct procedural integrity evaluations of instructor implementation of skill acquisition programs
  • Design, conduct and analyze FBAs including functional analyses
  • Design, conduct, and analyze treatment evaluations
  • Conduct parent training in the home and school on behavior intervention plans and home goals
  • Participate in school-wide staff training
  • Works directly with the students on a as needed basis
  • Implements crisis management
  • Work collaboratively with the Clinical Director, Principal, and Executive Director
